Apartment Review for Flagler Pointe Apartments - Saint Petersburg, FL

Well in regards to the blonde manager mentioned in these prior reviews if I was allowed to name her I would but they'll delete my review if I do. We put down a deposit and paid the pro-rated portion of the rent in money order as we were supposed to. Prior to accecpting the apartment we wanted to do a walk through but were told by a member of the office staff that we could do it after the lease was signed and would have 5 days to fill out the check list on our own. Upon my protest of this an office staff member(who was the only good person) did a walk thru with us. Among the broken stairs leading to the apartment, we found holes in the walls,

rusted out lighting fixtures, cracked sink, torn screen, a broken window in one of the bedrooms, the shelves in the fridge were broken to the point that nothing could even be held up. And those were the major things that we saw.

We went back to the office with the staff member and met with the blonde manager. Both apologized to us and stated that the handyman was supposed to have all of those things fixed but had an emergency and did not get a chance to get to it. The manager promised to refund our deposit back if we refused the apartment or would credit it to us if we did acptd the apartment after they fixed the items.

After some reading various reviews and some thought and prayer we decided against taking the apartment as it just gave us a bad feeling.

We called the staff member and advised her of the same on the very next business day. She was very cordial and apologized for the problems and advised that she will notify the manager for our refund. Well that is where the professionalism ends. After a few weeks of no response to our calls to the manager I went into the office to find out what was wrong. I was then met with EXTREME hostility and was threatened by the manager. She threatened to hold me to the lease (for the apartment they didn't have right) and with legal action and then with the police.

I am a very unconfrontational person and was very taken back. She then told me to come into her office and then told me to get out when I came in. She was yelling and acusing me of threatening her which I at no time did. She then told me to wait in the conference room which I did.

Once I was there she called the POLICE DEPARTMENT!!!! I heard her make the call and she told the police that I was very confrontational and she feared for her safety. At no time did I do anything remotely agressive. I tend to believe that this is a tactic used by her to intimidate people.

I simply waited in the conference room until the police department arrived. Once they arrived I explained the situation to them and both officers were already very familar with the office manager. They advised that there is nothing that I could do as she isn't right. They gave me the number to the Management company that runs Flagler Pointe and advised me that based on their experience with the office staff that I would have no chance at resolving with them.

Needless to say I have never been treated so poorly by anyone in my life. It was terrible and I can only imagine if I had moved in the problems that I would have with these people.

TERRIBLE!! BEWARE!!! UNCARING STAFF!!! RUDE UNPROFESSIONAL AND DOES NOT CARE ABOUT RESIDENTS!!!!!
